Niger State Ministry of Water Resources Strengthens Water Treatment Initiatives

The Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Services, under the leadership of Commissioner Engineer Faruq Umaru Audi, has undertaken a strategic move to enhance access to safe and clean water across the state.
The ministry has received an initial shipment of 600 bags of Aluminum Sulphate, part of a larger consignment of 1,600 bags anticipated in the coming days. This development is set to significantly bolster the state’s water treatment capabilities.
The remaining 1,000 bags of Aluminum Sulphate are currently en route, which will further empower the ministry to deliver improved water quality to Niger State residents.
As per the commissioner, these chemicals are vital for effective water treatment and purification processes, reaffirming the ministry’s dedication to advancing water and sanitation services.
In addition, the ministry received 40 kegs of HTH-Chlorine on December 22nd, enhancing its disinfection procedures. This chlorine supply is expected to positively impact public health and elevate the overall standard of living in the state.
Furthermore, Akilu Musa Kuta, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, emphasized the government’s commitment to water sustainability. The ongoing efforts align with the broader New Niger Agenda aimed at water system revitalization.
