The Niger State House of Assembly, during its plenary session on Tuesday, passed a vote of confidence in Alhaji Aminu Bobi, the Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), commending him for his outstanding leadership.
The Assembly noted that Bobi, who was elected to office on August 4, 2023, following the resignation of the former chairman, Engineer Jibrin Imam, has demonstrated the leadership ability and capacity to guide the party toward success. This commendation was in recognition of his effective leadership.
The motion was brought forth by Hon. Sani Idris, the member representing Tafa constituency, who stated that Bobi’s leadership over the past two years has brought clarity and direction to the ruling party in the state.
Hon. Idris emphasized that the party chairman has shown courage, competence, and the ability to lead the party to victory in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He stated, “The Assembly is convinced that our party chairman has a clear vision to elevate the party.
He has displayed competence, courage, commitment, and dedication in managing the party’s affairs.”
He highlighted that, after two years in office, the party chairman has successfully expanded the number of APC Assembly members from 18 at the beginning of their term to all 27.
This achievement is attributed to his effective representation of the party’s interests in the Niger State House of Assembly, which has facilitated the transition of members from opposition platforms to the APC.
Hon. Idris further noted, “The chairman’s actions and decisions over the past two years have consistently reflected the core values and objectives of the party, as well as the policy direction of the government towards achieving the New Niger Project under the APC administration.”
After an extensive discussion among members, all of whom praised his leadership, the House passed a vote of confidence in Bobi for his dedication and commitment to fostering unity and solidarity among party members.
The Assembly urged him to maintain his momentum and efforts in promoting party unity, inclusiveness, and development, which are essential pillars of democratic governance.
