Niger State Government congratulates Nigerlites on the successful Eid el Kabir celebration.
As Muslim ummah world over celebrate this year’s Eid-il-Kabir, Niger State Government has congratulated all Muslim residents in the State for a successful celebration.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alh. Abubakar Usman, who led top government officials in the State, joined the former Nigeria’s Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Emir of Minna, Alh. Umar Farouk Bahago at the Minna Eid prayer ground to perform the two-unit open air congregational prayer amidst morning downpour.
The Deputy Chief Imam, Imam Isah Jibrin led the two-unit congregational prayer, where he encouraged all Muslims to remain steadfast in Allah and to celebrate in love with everyone around them.
In an interview shortly after Eid prayer, the SSG, Alh. Abubakar Usman appreciated God for the peaceful celebration in the State.
He also commended Nigerlites for their continued support to the present administration in the State, while assuring them of Government’s resolve to transform the State.
Alh. Abubakar prayed to Allah to grant an enduring peace to the State and the Nation also prayed to Him to accept their supplications.
He further prayed for the safe return of the farmer Governor and all Nigerlites on pilgrimage.
Also speaking to Journalists on their Sallah message, the former Nigeria’s Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Senator representing Niger East, Sen. Mohammed Sani Musa described the season as a time to reflect on the blessings of Allah on humanity.
While praying for peace in the State in particular and Nigeria in general, they charged Nigerians to live peacefully with each other.
High point of the Eid prayer was the slaughtering of ram by the Deputy Chief Imam as a symbol of sacrifice witnessed by the congregation.
Subsequently, the SSG led the State government delegation on a separate visit to the uphill residences of the two former Nigeria’s leaders, Generals Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar to pay Sallah homage on behalf of farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
