Niger State Governor Inaugurates New Vehicles to Strengthen Security Efforts
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has officially inaugurated 12 Hilux vehicles to enhance security capabilities within the state.
The inauguration took place at the police headquarters in Minna, where the governor emphasized that the vehicles are a part of his administration’s ongoing support for law enforcement and security personnel morale.
Governor Bago commended the efforts of police and other security agencies in combating insecurity and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to their support.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, expressed gratitude for the governor’s continued support, noting, “This is not the first time the governor has provided logistics and support, and we do not take it for granted.”
Elleman assured that the vehicles would be effectively utilized to improve security operations. He also announced the establishment of a Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), staffed by 218 trained personnel to address serious crimes such as banditry, robbery, kidnapping, and rape.
He stated that with the training provided, crime rates in the state are expected to decline.
