President Tinubu sweeps APC presidential primary in Plateau

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election conducted in Plateau State.
The Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who served as the Returning Officer for the exercise in the state, officially declared President Tinubu winner of the primary on Saturday night in Jos, following the conclusion of voting and collation across the 17 Local Government Areas.
Announcing the results, Governor Mutfwang stated that President Tinubu secured a total of 242,023 votes, defeating his contender, Mr. Tunde Osifo, who polled 303 votes.
According to the Governor, the results announced represented the votes collated from all the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
“By the powers vested in me as the Returning Officer for the APC presidential primary election in Plateau State, I hereby certify this as the official summary of votes collated from the 17 Local Government Areas,” Governor Mutfwang declared.
Governor Mutfwang commended the peaceful, transparent, and orderly conduct of the exercise across the state, describing the process as credible and reflective of the democratic maturity of APC members in Plateau State.
He further praised party faithful for their discipline, unity, and massive participation throughout the exercise.
The presidential primary election witnessed an impressive turnout, as thousands of APC members came out in large numbers to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
At the Federal Government College, Jos, the designated voting centre for Jos North Local Government Area, enthusiastic party supporters formed long queues from the early hours of the day, waving voting slips, chanting solidarity songs, and expressing strong support for the President.
The atmosphere across the state was peaceful, celebratory, and marked by high voter enthusiasm, underscoring the confidence of party members in the leadership and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
