NFF President Shows Satisfaction with Ongoing Reconstruction at Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing reconstruction work at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna.
He made this statement when he led a delegation from the NFF on an inspection tour of the stadium alongside the Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago.
Alhaji Gusau said the purpose of inspecting the stadium is to ensure that all necessary measures are in place to meet the standards required for hosting Nigeria Professional League matches.
He added that the Federation appreciates the efforts of the governor in renovating the stadium. He reassured that the football governing body will provide all the support needed to meet their objectives.
In his response, Governor Umaru Bago stated that the Bako Kontagora Stadium has exceeded its usefulness, and his administration remains committed to ensuring that Niger Tornadoes does not have to play its home matches elsewhere.
Governor Umaru Bago also mentioned that what the state government under his leadership is doing is unprecedented in the history of the state, and that he will collaborate closely with the NFF to ensure the goals are achieved.
He further disclosed that plans are underway to acquire the houses surrounding the stadium to allow for its expansion.
The governor also led the delegation on a tour of the football pitch at the Ahmadu Bahago Sports Complex, which Niger Tornadoes Football Club currently uses as its training base.
