Nigerian Correctional Service, Niger State Command, Completes Promotion Examination for Junior Officers
The Nigerian Correctional Service, Niger State Command, started the 2026 promotion exam for junior officers on May 18 and finished the process on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
This activity was part of a nationwide initiative directed by the Service’s National Headquarters.
In a press statement issued by CSC Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu, CPRO, it was stated that the four-day exercise took place at the command headquarters in Minna and involved 11 candidates from custodial units across the state. The exam aimed to assess officers on CONPASS 03-06 for promotion to the next rank.
The Controller of Corrections, Niger State Command, CC Ogunleye Seyi Oladipupo, supervised the exercise alongside senior officers of the command. He emphasized that the process was designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and merit, aligning with the NCoS’s commitment to professionalism and career development.
CC Ogunleye also explained that the Nigerian Correctional Service, under the leadership of the Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, focuses on building a disciplined and capable workforce.
“This examination guarantees that only deserving officers are promoted to take on greater responsibilities in service delivery,” he added.
Participants described the exercise as orderly and well-managed, with proper supervision and strict adherence to exam guidelines.
The team leader from the Service Headquarters in Abuja, CSC Isaiah Gana, and the CDCIFB representative, Mrs. Hajara, both expressed satisfaction with how the exercise was conducted. They appreciated the command’s hospitality and warm reception.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to support the Service Headquarters in promoting officers based on merit, competence, and dedication to duty, thereby strengthening reform and rehabilitation efforts in Niger State.
The team has since left for Abuja after a successful and smooth exercise.
