Hon. Adamu Aliyu, PhD, Condemns Violent Attack on Innocent Citizens in Anguwan Rukuba

Hon. Adamu Aliyu, PhD, the representative for Jos North-North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, has strongly denounced the brutal attack that occurred on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Anguwan Rukuba (Gari Ya Waye community) in Jos North Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Monday, Hon. Adamu Aliyu expressed profound disappointment over the incident, which involved unidentified gunmen opening fire on peaceful residents, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. He described the attack as “senseless, cowardly, and a direct assault on the peace-loving people of Jos North.”
The lawmaker extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed and wishes for quick recovery to the injured. He urged security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and Nigerian Army, to conduct a thorough investigation, identify the perpetrators, and ensure justice is served promptly.
“We cannot allow this cycle of violence to persist. Security agencies must act swiftly to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice,” he stated.
Hon. Aliyu appealed to residents of Jos North to remain calm, law-abiding, and avoid any acts of reprisal that could worsen the situation. He called on youths to exercise restraint and allow security forces to perform their duties effectively.
He further prayed for lasting peace in Jos North and Plateau State, asking for divine intervention to comfort the bereaved, heal the injured, and restore stability.
Reaffirming his commitment, Hon. Aliyu assured constituents of his continued engagement with authorities to enhance security and promote peace. He also commended the Plateau State Government for imposing a 48-hour curfew to restore order and safeguard the community.
