BOSA President Pays Tribute to Esteemed Educationist Mallam Ilyasu Tauheed Bida
The National President of the Bida Old Students Association (BOSA), Government College Bida, retired Major-General Abdulmalik Halidu Giwa, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the renowned educationist and administrator, Mallam Ilyasu Tauheed Bida.
In a condolence message, Major-General Giwa, also bearing the traditional title of Taimakon Nupe, described the demise of Mallam Ilyasu as a significant loss to Government College Bida and the Nigerian education sector.
He highlighted that the deceased was a distinguished figure, a respected educator, and a man of integrity whose influence will resonate with current and future generations.
Major-General Giwa commended Mallam Ilyasu’s humility, honesty, and steadfast dedication to advancing education in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
He noted that Mallam Ilyasu imparted knowledge to many prominent Nigerian leaders, including Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as distinguished emirs and politicians.
The President of BOSA emphasized that the history of Government College Bida would be incomplete without acknowledging Mallam Ilyasu’s contributions to wood and metal works fabrication and technical drawing.
He further praised the late educationist’s skillfulness, patience, and tolerance—qualities that helped shape numerous students into influential societal figures.
While expressing the association’s grief, Major-General Giwa found solace in the meaningful life Mallam Ilyasu led and the lasting legacy he left behind.
He appealed to uphold his virtues of sincerity and acceptance as a means of honoring his memory.
On behalf of BOSA, he prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased, asking that he be granted Aljannatul Firdaus.
Finally, he extended prayers for strength and consolation to the bereaved family, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, as well as the staff and students of Government College Bida during this period of mourning.
