Top Athletes and Emerging Talents Prepare for Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club’s Second Anniversary
Business magnate Felix Aganbi announced plans on Friday for a significant golf tournament to mark the second anniversary of Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club.
“The anniversary of our 18-hole golf course will draw international talent and provide opportunities for rising players,” stated Felix Aganbi, CEO of Akogate Group.
Supported by Sir Alfred and Mrs. Warami Temile, Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club aims to elevate the sport in Nigeria, benefit the Niger Delta region, attract diverse visitors to Koko, and boost tourism and hospitality industries in Delta State.
Aganbi emphasized, “On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Canaanland Golf Course and Country Club in Koko, we will host local and international investors, amateur and professional golfers, showcase the advantages of investing in Koko, and celebrate Delta State’s rich history and culture.”
He highlighted that the facility is designed to prepare men and women for various important life roles, encouraging Nigerian CEOs and managers to support sports development and promotion.
Aganbi also mentioned strides in enhancing quality sports infrastructure in Koko Town.
“The second anniversary is a chance for athletes to earn prize money,” he added.
As chairman of Canaan Land Golf & Country Club, Aganbi expressed his enthusiasm for celebrating the milestone on April 25, 2026.
“This one-day event will mark our club’s second year and will extend beyond golf, featuring badminton, table tennis, and darts.”
The festivities will emphasize networking, social interaction, skill development, health and wellness, career advancement, and exposure.
“A special anniversary ceremony will reflect our progress, including refreshments and networking opportunities. We will also host a medical outreach focusing on eye care and comprehensive health checkups at our Christiana Aganbi Sickbay.
Our vision for this event and future initiatives is to strengthen community bonds, promote health and wellness, and showcase Koko’s potential through the Canaan Land Smart City—a sustainable development project with eco-friendly homes, a technology hub, wellness facilities, and tourist attractions,” Aganbi concluded.
