Governor Umaru Bago Inspects Major Road Projects in Niger State
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, inspected the Minna-Suleja road following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent approval for completing the 71-kilometer project.
Accompanied by the Director of Highways, Bridges, and Road Designs, Engr. Musa Sa’idu, and the Director of Highway Construction and Rehabilitation, Engr. Clement Ogbuagu, the governor assessed critical sections to facilitate the start of work.
During the visit, Governor Bago spoke with representatives from the contracting firms to discuss strategies for project implementation.
The governor also inspected the deteriorated Dikko-Maje road, advocating for its reconstruction due to its important economic role and the finalized road plan. He called on the federal government to prioritize this project.
Expressing gratitude, Governor Bago thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Minister of Works, David Umahi, for their continued support to Niger State.
Officials from the Federal Ministry of Works, including Engr. Musa Saidu and Engr. Clement Ogbuagu, assured that the Minna-Suleja road project is set to begin before the rainy season, and that the 7 km Maje-Dikko road project will be awarded soon.
Members of the state government and political representatives, such as Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, Federal Constituency Members Adamu Tanko and Saidu Musa Abdullahi, along with local government and business leaders, joined the governor on the inspection.
