Niger SSG Calls for Greater Collaboration with Federal Agencies to Promote the New Niger Agenda

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has urged increased cooperation between the Niger State Government and federal agencies operating within the state to boost development and enhance service delivery to residents.
Alhaji Usman made these remarks during his speech at the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in Niger State’s quarterly meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the SSG’s Office in Minna.
The attendees included key federal stakeholders and state officials to discuss partnership opportunities and policy alignment.
The SSG reaffirmed the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s commitment to inclusive governance, transparency, and intergovernmental collaboration.
He emphasized that the New Niger Agenda focuses on people and is driven by development, requiring a collective effort from federal, state, and local institutions to achieve its goals.
Alhaji Usman stressed the crucial role of federal establishments in both national and state development, assuring that the government is ready to strengthen partnerships in areas such as security, agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development, and social welfare. He called on the association to align their programs with the administration’s reforms to maximize impact.
Representing the association, Chairperson Mrs. Deborah Charles expressed appreciation for the government’s engagement and reiterated their willingness to collaborate on implementing the New Niger Agenda.
Mrs. Charles described the agenda as progressive and capable of repositioning the state for sustainable growth through collaborative efforts.
She announced that the association has resolved to formalize quarterly meetings with government officials as a platform for ongoing dialogue, coordination, and evaluation of joint initiatives.
Additionally, she appealed for inclusion of the association in state welfare programs to motivate members and improve intergovernmental relations.
The attendees included the Coordinator of Federal Establishments Liaison to the Niger State Governor, Muhammad Sani Usman; former Special Adviser on Labour, Comrade Engr. Aminu Yusuf; and the Director General of Labour Affairs, Comrade Kabiru Ibrahim.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to ongoing collaboration, mutual support, and shared responsibility in delivering effective governance and services to the people of Niger State.
