Niger State Teacher Emerges Best in North Central at National Teachers’ Summit

Mrs. Khadijah Galadima, a classroom teacher at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Primary School in Minna, Niger State, has been named the Best Teacher in the North Central Zone at the recently held National Teachers’ Summit in Abuja.
The summit was organized jointly by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), gathering outstanding teachers from across Nigeria. This year’s theme, “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System,” highlighted the vital role educators play in national progress.
During the event, winners from the six geopolitical zones received a cash prize of ₦25 million each, recognizing their dedication and excellence. To further encourage them, Kebbi State’s Governor, who was one of the Special Guests of Honour, generously donated an additional ₦5 million to each zonal winner.
Reacting to this significant achievement, the Executive Chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, extended heartfelt congratulations to Niger State’s Governor, Mrs. Khadijah Galadima, her family, and the entire education community in the state.
Dr. Liman called the award a proud moment for Niger State, noting it elevates the state’s profile in terms of quality education and human capital development. He credited the success to continuous support from the state government, especially in teacher training and retraining.
The Chairman assured Nigerlites that with ongoing government commitment to boosting the education sector, more teachers from the state will continue to excel and earn national recognition.
“This achievement is a clear testament to what is possible when teachers are empowered and supported,” he added.
