Niger State Government Presents Certificates of Occupancy for SIPC Initiative to Federal Ministry of Finance
The Niger State Government has officially presented Certificates of Occupancy covering 100,000 hectares of land to the Federal Ministry of Finance. This gesture signifies the state’s commitment to its partnership with the ministry in establishing Sustainable Integrated Productive Communities (SIPC).
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago delivered the certificates at the ministry in Abuja. The land includes areas from Minna to Zungeru, Lapai to Lambata Road, Minna to Bida Road, Lapai to Paiko Road, and Minna to Suleja.
Governor Bago described the initiative as a noble, solution-oriented approach to industrialization, agriculture, and security, emphasizing its potential for positive societal impacts.
He also announced that an additional 20,000 hectares have been made available from each of the 25 local government areas for investors interested in contributing to the state’s development.
The Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, highlighted that the certificates mark a significant milestone in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, specifically in areas of food security, mass housing, and inclusive economic growth.
She praised Governor Bago for his leadership and commitment, noting the project’s alignment with federal and state collaboration to realize national objectives.
Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang, MD of Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), emphasized the project’s role in transforming communities through the productive utilization of lands to create livelihoods. Likewise, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, MD of the Rural Electrification Agency, commended Governor Bago’s dedication to the project’s speedy implementation.
Alh. Abubakar Usman, Secretary to the Niger State Government, reaffirmed the state’s dedication to the success of SIPC, while Saidu Musa Abdulaahi, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, highlighted the project’s potential to generate jobs, accelerate development, and address rural-urban migration.
Additionally, Abdullahi Musa of Happy Home Funds Ltd and Sammy Adigun of Niger Foods expressed readiness to collaborate towards achieving the project’s goals.
This land grant underscores Niger State’s strategic commitment to establish SIPC as a pilot scheme aimed at bolstering food security, mass housing, and economic inclusivity.
