Niger State Ministry of Water Resources Attends 2026 Budget Defense Session

Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has attended the 2026 budget defense session at the Niger State House of Assembly complex Minna.
The event which is part of the government’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the allocation of public funds, underscore the importance of water resources development in the state’s overall development plan.
Speaking to journalist shortly after the screening the commissioner for water resources and Irrigation Engineer Faruq Umaru Audi reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to water revitalization, which includes improving access to water for irrigation and other purposes.
He also explained that the 2026 budget is expected to prioritize projects that align with the state’s development goals, including water security and food sufficiency.
Meanwhile the ministry’s participation in the budget defense session highlights its role in driving the state’s development agenda and its expected to provide an enabling environment for the ministry to implement its projects and programs, which will contribute to the state’s overall development.
However the 2026 budget is expected to be a budget of consolidation, focusing on projects that will drive economic growth and development in the state with the state government’s commitment to water revitalization is a clear indication of its priorities, and stakeholders are optimistic that the budget will address the pressing needs of the people.
