Newgate University Celebrates Excellence During 2025 inaugural graduation ceremony in Niger state.

Newgate University, located in Minna, Niger State, has announced a prestigious reward for its top graduating student, Hauwa Maude Kulu, who graduated with first-class honors from the Department of Public Health. The university will refund school fees from 100 to 400 levels as part of this recognition.
This announcement was made by the Chancellor of the University, Judge Kaigama (SAN), during the 2025 inaugural graduation ceremony held at the university premises on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025.
The Chancellor highlighted that Hauwa Maude Kulu was also granted automatic employment and admission, should she choose to pursue further studies.
Founded in May 2022, Newgate University holds the distinction of being the first private university established in Niger State.
Niger State Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago, represented by Deputy Yakubu Garba, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the university’s mission of bringing education closer to the people. “Our support is a strategic investment in Niger State’s future,” he stated, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality across all levels.
The Governor praised the students for their dedication and academic excellence, encouraging them to apply their learned values beyond the campus.
Dr. Hassan Nuhu, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, urged higher education institutions to focus on cultivating job creators rather than mere job seekers.
He articulated that Newgate University serves as “a gateway to new opportunities,” where innovative ideas are incubated and transformed into impactful ventures.
Vice Chancellor Professor Sadiq Yusuf stated that 14 students graduated with first-class honors, with a total enrollment of 2,000 students across 13 programs in four faculties—an impressive growth since the university’s inception with 350 students in 2022.
Additionally, ten programs have achieved full accreditation from the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).
