Bago Administration Deepens Reform Efforts with Capacity-Building Retreat, Says Niger SSG

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, described the Executive Retreat for Commissioners-Designate, Chairmen-Elect, their Deputies, Special Advisers, and Permanent Secretaries as a vital platform to strengthen collective responsibility, foster collaboration, and develop a unified leadership committed to delivering the New Niger Agenda.
In his welcome remarks, the SSG highlighted that the retreat demonstrates the renewed commitment of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s administration to reform governance through strategic planning, increased synergy among Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and improved service delivery.
Alhaji Usman praised the participants for answering the call to serve, noting that their presence shows a strong dedication to the state’s development. He emphasized that “this is a crucial moment in our State’s history where governance demands fresh thinking, stronger teamwork and a clear focus on results.”
He urged the Chairmen-Elect to embrace the responsibility entrusted to them by their constituents, emphasizing that grassroots progress heavily depends on their leadership. He also called on Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and other senior officials to see themselves as the “engine room” for executing government policies and turning vision into concrete results.
According to him, the retreat offers an opportunity to align strategies, clarify roles, and deepen understanding of each official’s part in building a secure, productive, and prosperous Niger State.
The SSG encouraged participants to actively participate, strengthen partnerships, and recommit to service founded on integrity, accountability, and compassion.
