Niger State Governor Partners NARTO to Enhance Road Services, Vehicle Management.
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has announced a strategic partnership with the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) aimed at improving road services across the state. This announcement was made during a courtesy visit from the National Executive Council members of NARTO at the Government House in Minna.
Governor Bago emphasized the crucial role of NARTO in the nation’s development, highlighting that a well-maintained road network is vital for economic stability. He underscored the association’s importance in facilitating transportation and connectivity throughout the region.
As part of this collaboration, Governor Bago revealed plans to establish motor parks that will allow for the registration and monitoring of vehicle owners and commercial drivers, thereby improving operational efficiency within the transport sector.
Drawing from his past experience as a banker, the governor expressed his long-standing support for NARTO’s objectives, reinforcing his commitment to working alongside the association for the betterment of the state’s infrastructure.
He commended NARTO’s National President, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Uthman, for his leadership and for acknowledging the governor’s efforts in road reconstruction.
In response, Alhaji Uthman conveyed gratitude towards both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bago for their support, praising the significant road construction initiatives underway in the state.
He noted NARTO’s ongoing involvement in the distribution of election materials since the onset of democracy and reiterated the association’s commitment to advocating for improved infrastructure.
Uthman expressed particular satisfaction regarding the reconstruction of the Minna-Bida road and called on the Federal Government to consider alternative routes through Tegina, Kagara, and Birnin Gwari to facilitate the effective reconstruction process.
This partnership between the Niger State government and NARTO is poised to enhance transportation services and contribute to the overall development of the state’s infrastructure.
