ALUMNI BEGS NIGER GOV’T TO RECLAIM OFFICIAL RESIDENT OF SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SOLD  OUT IN NIGER

The Alumni of Niger-Baptist/Bahago Old Students Association (NIBBOSA),has appealed  to the Niger Government to assist the association reclaim the official resident of the Principal of the school sold over two decades ago by the administration of former governor of Niger State, Engineer Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure.

The National President of the Association, Suleiman Hassan made the appealed during the 2025 Annual National Conference,held at Ahmadu Bahago Secondary School premises in Minna.

Suleiman explained that the Association had every proved that the official resident of the school principal was sold,he however called for the state government intervention to revoked the sales and return the property back to the school.

According to Hassan”.You don’t need to be told that the school is face with numerous challenges of dilapidated structures.

The conference accorded old students opportunity to see things for themselves the level of decay  and dilapidation in terms of infrastructure and the environment,academics and even sporting activities, it is my hope that with you behind us as EXCO’s,will be able to correct certain abnormalities.

The NIBBOSA President while explaining that the membership of the association spread across the country, regretted that members don’t attend meetings, pointing out that the situation has been the predicament of the association, particularly in the North,he however urged members to be more committed to the association activities.

He further maintained that the Annual National Conference gives members the opportunity to meet and interact with their seniors, classmates and even their juniors, adding that after the graduation,some of the old students have never set their fit in the school again.

Suleiman thanked governor Bago for appointing one of the old boy as the current principal of the school.

Earlier, the Minna branch Acting Chairman of NIBBOSA, Abdullahi Ahmed, appreciated the pioneers of the association who borrow a leaf from their senior in the South West.

He stressed that after several years of graduation from the school, some members have never stepped into the corridors of the school,he called on members to always rally round the association so as to meet their love ones  live and share life experiences  together as well as appreciate one another.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawun,who is also alumini and the Chairman fund raising committee for the annual conference,noted that the essence of the conference was not only to meet with classmates but,an opportunity to reunite and see how they can help themselves.

The SSG represented by a Permanent Secretary in his office,assured of the state government intervention in all the challenges confronting the school in no distance time.

Sani Mohammad Alfa, an alumini class of 1981,appreciated God for sparing their lives to witnessed the 2025 annual conference,he stated that reunion is  an opportunity for them to meet again and know how they can help themselves.

Engineer Ibrahim Dada,an alumini, class of 1989, asserted that the 2025 annual conference was excited, calling on aluminus to be good ambassadors of the school any where they may find themselves.
