SDP Flag off Campaign for November 2025 Council Elections in Gurara.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Gurara Local Government Area has officially launched its campaign for the upcoming council elections scheduled for November 2025.
The party’s chairmanship candidate, Attahiru Musa Abubakar, has made significant pledges aimed at enhancing the socioeconomic and living standards of the community if elected.
During the campaign kickoff, Abubakar laid out his manifesto, emphasizing his commitment to harnessing the untapped potentials of Gurara to boost revenue generation. “Every aspiring Council Chairman should work towards creating an independent council that does not heavily rely on federal or state government funding,” he stated, asserting a vision for a self-sustaining local government.
Abubakar set an ambitious target for Gurara, claiming that the area has the capability to generate an average of 500 million naira monthly.
He also addressed ongoing challenges facing the community, including inadequate electricity in certain area, land grabbing, illegal mining activities, and the lack of higher learning institutions.
In addition to his economic plans, Abubakar expressed dedication to protecting the land rights of residents, noting the strategic proximity of Gurara to the Federal Capital Territory.
Support for Abubakar’s candidacy has been vocal from various political entities, including members from the PDP, Labour Party, ADC, and NNPP, who believe he is positioned to restore effective and qualitative leadership in Gurara local government area.
Hon. Muhammed Muhammed Leader of the Coalition and Party chieftains conveyed optimism about his potential impact, citing the community’s trust in his leadership capabilities.
“We believe that, by the grace of God, if the elections are conducted fairly, our candidate will emerge victorious,” he remarked.

The SDP now looks forward to engaging the electorate as the countdown to the November elections begins.
