Niger State Prepares for Upcoming Local Government Elections: A Call for Unity and Integrity Among Political Actors.

As the local government council elections in Niger State approach this November, Alhaji Nma Kolo, the Special Adviser on Political Matters, has issued a heartfelt appeal to all political stakeholders to uphold the values of integrity and decorum that define the state.
In a recent statement, Kolo emphasized the importance of unity and a collective purpose among all participants in the electoral process. He urged candidates to view political office as a call to service rather than a pursuit of power.
With preparations already underway, Kolo expressed confidence in the smooth execution of the elections and commended the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC) for maintaining an impartial stance throughout the process.
He reminded all political actors of their responsibility to adhere to electoral guidelines, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to democratic principles under Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
“Our governor is an astute politician who understands the importance of following the rules. Let us reciprocate this commitment by ensuring a peaceful and seamless election process,” Kolo stated.
Additionally, Kolo encouraged support for the governor’s vision for a “New Niger.” He recognized the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for its role in promoting a culture of unity and decorum among political parties.
Kolo called on IPAC to continue its efforts in creating a fair playing field for all parties and ensuring that diverse viewpoints are heard.
He reiterated the need for collaborative efforts to enhance the state’s democracy and promote sustainable development as Niger State prepares for its crucial elections.
