Nigerians Admonished to Embrace Selfless Service to God and Humanity.

Nigerians have been urged to embody selfless service to God and humanity, as faithfulness to God is key to our salvation.
This message was delivered during a sermon at a one-day prayer convocation organized by the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), held yesterday at the First Baptist Church along Bosso Road in Minna. The theme of the event was “Divine Intervention.”
Rev. Williams Oladejo from the Zion Baptist Church in Maikunkele reassured the congregation that whenever they are in trouble, they should call upon the Lord and cry out in prayer. He emphasized that God will intervene, stating, “God is often provoked when your enemies insult Him.”
In his sermon, which was based on the Book of Chronicles (Chapter 32, Verse 16) and Luke (10:13), Rev. Oladejo highlighted the supernatural power that was granted to the faithful servant of God, David, who overcame the mighty warrior Goliath. He reaffirmed that the scriptures make it clear that faithful ones have been given the authority to overcome evil.
Earlier in his welcome address, the state Chairman of CCN, Venerable Daniel Tsado, mentioned that divine intervention is not always about grand miracles but can also be found in quiet moments of solace. He cited 2 Chronicles 32:16-22, which tells the story of King Hezekiah facing significant challenges from the Assyrian king Sennacherib, who threatened Jerusalem. In response to this threat, God sent angels to destroy the Assyrian army.
“This moment reassures us that no matter the challenges we face, divine intervention can manifest in unexpected ways. God acts not only on our pleas but also in ways we never anticipate,” he said.
Venerable Daniel also reminded the congregation of the importance of faith, prayer, and trust in God’s sovereignty. He reflected on how God intervened on behalf of the people of Judah and assured that the same could happen for us in times of need if we place our trust in God.
“I encourage each of you to reflect on the areas of your life where you are seeking divine intervention, whether it be in your personal lives, family, or workplace. We need to unite our voices in prayer, share our burdens, and rejoice in His faithfulness,” Venerable Daniel reiterated.
The prayer session was spiritually led by Rev. Igwe Charles of the Methodist Church, Rev. Canon Samuel of the First African Church, and Elder Chijioke Elekwachu of the Presbyterian Church. They prayed for divine intervention for President Tinubu and Governor Umar Bago, seeking peace and economic stability in the country.
