Hazras Charity Foundation Joins Forces with MAA International Provides Relief for Mokwa Flood Victims .

In a commendable initiative, the Hazras Charity Foundation, in collaboration with the donor organization MAA International, recently visited Mokwa in Niger State to distribute essential relief materials to individuals displaced by devastating floods.
Project Lead Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso, Chairlady of the Board of Trustees for Hazras Charity Foundation, emphasized the organization’s global commitment to charitable causes. She noted that the food assistance and intervention efforts were specifically designed to support the internally displaced persons affected by the recent disaster, which tragically claimed numerous lives and left many homeless.
“In addition to disaster relief, we also assist the underprivileged during Ramadan and Eid el-Kabir,” Hajiya Lauratu remarked. “Our mission is to bring comfort and support to those in need within our society.”
According to preliminary reports, almost all the food packs distributed were well-received by the Vigims of Mokwa flood. Furthermore, the Hazras Foundation has pledged to construct 1,000 temporary accommodations for the displaced individuals as part of the second phase of their mission in Niger State.
Dr. Abdullateef Abdulkadir, FIMC, CMC, National Chairman of Hazras Charity Foundation, highlighted that this initiative marks the first time the foundation, in cooperation with Muslim Aid Australia, has reached out to flood victims.
He stated, “This NGO has consistently been at the forefront of supporting vulnerable populations, particularly those impacted by disasters.”
This initiative, the first of its kind in Nigeria, aimed to alleviate the suffering of victims affected by the May 28 flood disaster in Mokwa. Approximately 800 households benefitted from the assistance, which included essential food items such as a 50-kilo bag of rice, flour, beans, sugar, vegetable oil, and cassava flakes.
One beneficiary, Mallam Jibrin Sheshi, expressed deep gratitude towards the Hazras Charity Foundation for their generous support, stating, “To God be the glory, and may God Almighty reward them abundantly. Many of us have received aid, but we urge the state government to provide further support for flood victims.”
He added, “We still need more help with building materials to rebuild our homes, which were destroyed by the flood, and to return to our respective houses.”
