Umaru Bago Commends Progress on IBB Specialist Hospital Remodelling in Minna

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing remodelling of the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna. During a recent inspection of the project, Governor Bago praised the contractors for their commendable efforts.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the health sector, ensuring that citizens have access to quality healthcare services.
This initiative follows his earlier declaration of a state of emergency in the health sector, which has led to extensive renovations and upgrades to health institutions across the state.
The IBB Specialist Hospital is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. Significant areas, including the Emergency/Accident Unit, General Outpatients Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Doctors’ Call Rooms/Nurses’ Stations, have been fully renovated and equipped with modern medical facilities.
Additionally, the project has introduced a multispecialty clinic with patients’ waiting areas and three new consulting rooms. The ENT unit has also been expanded and converted into an Intensive Care Unit.
Notable enhancements include the remodelling of the emergency unit and VIP wards, as well as the construction of two semi-detached, two-bedroom doctors’ quarters. A 42,000-litre overhead water tank has been installed, along with the reactivation of an additional motorized borehole.
The project also encompasses the procurement of an Elizer machine for blood screening, as recommended by the Nigerian National Blood Services, and the acquisition of a new 100 KV generator for the NNPC multipurpose diagnostic center, alongside various other medical equipment.
Governor Bago’s administration continues to prioritize the improvement of healthcare facilities to better serve the people of Niger State.
