State Workers to Receive Staggered Salary Payments Following Technical Glitch
By Yahaya Zakka Minna.
In a recent announcement, it was revealed that up to this moment some state workers have yet to receive their February 2025 salaries, as the payment window extended beyond the usual timeframe of the 23rd of the month to the 7th of the following month.
The leadership of Organized Labour has addressed the issue, clarifying that the technical glitch that caused double payments to some workers was unintentional and not a result of negligence.
Efforts are reportedly underway to recover the excess payments made to affected individuals.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance has communicated to Organized Labour that salary disbursements will resume as of Saturday, March 8, 2025, with a commitment to complete all outstanding payments by Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
In light of the ongoing situation, the union leaders are calling for patience from civil servants who are experiencing delays in receiving their salaries.
They assure stakeholders that they are working diligently to expedite the resolution process.
The unions express gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of the affected workers during this challenging time.
