Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025: NAWOJ Niger Calls for Enhanced Support for Women
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Niger State Chapter, proudly joins the worldwide celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, recognizing the vital achievements and contributions of women across various fields.
This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” emphasizes the urgent need for a society where women’s voices are amplified, their rights safeguarded, and their contributions duly acknowledged.
As female journalists, we are dedicated to elevating women’s narratives, advocating for gender equality, and challenging the stereotypes that impede women’s advancement in society.
In honoring the progress made in women’s empowerment, NAWOJ Niger State also highlights the ongoing challenges women encounter, such as gender-based violence, workplace discrimination, and limited access to leadership roles.
We call upon the government, private sector, and civil society to implement decisive actions and gender-responsive policies that foster the inclusion and advancement of women.
NAWOJ Niger State reaffirms its commitment to leveraging journalism as a catalyst for advocacy, awareness, and meaningful change.
We encourage all stakeholders to champion initiatives that empower women, fostering a society that truly values the contributions of women.
On this significant day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all women, particularly those in the media, who continually break barriers, challenge conventions, and inspire future generations.
Together, we can forge a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
