Tragic Accident Claims Life of Man Attempting to Retrieve Fallen Phone.

A 31-year-old man, identified as Sunday Jimoh, tragically lost his life in a well in Laditan, Oja-Odan, Ogun State, while attempting to recover his mobile phone that had accidentally fallen into the water.
The incident occurred around 10:00 am on Saturday, as confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command. CSP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, provided details in a statement released on Sunday.
Witness Kabiru Aladeshayi Ayigbere reported seeing Jimoh trying to enter the well next to his shop, despite warnings about the dangers of such actions.
Unfortunately, while Aladeshayi was momentarily away, Jimoh descended into the well and subsequently drowned.
Police detectives, upon receiving the report, quickly arrived at the scene and called in rescue experts to recover the body.
Preliminary investigations indicated no signs of foul play and suggested that the incident was purely accidental.
The deceased’s family has been informed, and they have requested to arrange for his burial in accordance with Muslim rites.
The Ogun State Police Command has extended its heartfelt condolences to Jimoh’s family and urged the community to exercise greater caution in potentially hazardous situations.
