NECO Expands Global Presence, Accredits More Schools in Equatorial Guinea

In its effort to broaden its global reach, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has accredited additional schools in Equatorial Guinea to conduct the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In a Press release made available to Journalist by Azeez Sani,
Ag. Director Information and Public Relations stated that the newly accredited institutions, along with existing ones, are located in Bata, the largest city in Equatorial Guinea.
To assess the readiness of these schools for the SSCE and BECE, the NECO Accreditation Team conducted visits where they inspected various facilities.
The team evaluated classrooms, laboratories, libraries, computer labs, workshops, examination halls, sports facilities, and continuous assessment processes.
They also assessed the adequacy of teachers and the security of the schools to ensure their suitability for NECO examinations.
After thorough evaluations, the schools were granted full accreditation status for both the SSCE and BECE. This expansion of accredited foreign schools highlights NECO’s commitment to providing quality education and assessment beyond Nigeria’s borders.
With its growing global presence, NECO is positioned to become a leading examination body in Africa, providing opportunities for Nigerian students and other foreign nationals to benefit from its expertise. This initiative contributes to the advancement of education both in Africa and internationally.
It is worth noting that NECO examinations are now taken by candidates in Benin Republic, Niger Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Equatorial Guinea, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
