The Niger State government has postponed its tour of Zone B to mourn the death of the Chairman of Katcha Local Government Area, Danlami Abdullahi Saku, who tragically died in a car crash along Kwakuti on Tuesday, December 9, 2024.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Binta Mamman, and shared with journalists on Thursday in Minna, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago announced that the tour is now rescheduled for January 2025 as a mark of respect.
The statement also mentioned that a Fidda’u prayer, to be led by the Director General of Religious Affairs, Dr. Umar Farooq Abdullahi, will be held tomorrow (Friday) after Jumaat at the Minna Central Mosque.
It is important to note that Governor Bago had previously toured local government areas in Zones A and C, where he inspected ongoing projects across the state.
The Governor prayed that Allah grant Aljanna Firdausi as the final resting place for the deceased and provide comfort to the late Chairman’s family and the people of Katcha.
