Joshua Distributes Assorted Food Items to Flood-Affected Communities
From Samson Alfa, Minna.
As part of his ongoing efforts to support the people in his constituencies, Hon. Joshua Audu Gana delivered assorted food items worth millions of Naira to victims of the recent flood disaster in Niger State, specifically in Lavun, Edati, and Mokwa federal constituencies.
Our correspondent reports that the benefiting communities include Muregi, Gbara, Gbajibo, Jebba, and Ja’agi.
While distributing the commodities to the village heads of these communities, Dr. Joshua Gana stated that such efforts are part of his commitment to comforting those in desperate need of assistance.
“I will continue to do this repeatedly for my constituencies of Lavun, Edati, and Mokwa. My representation should not be seen as cosmetic, but rather as one that truly understands the needs of the people,” he said.
“As a representative of the people, the distribution of these food items demonstrates my compassion and commitment to those who need urgent assistance during these challenging times. Thus, providing relief materials to flood victims across the constituency is paramount.”
Joshua noted that local government areas like Lavun, Edati, and Mokwa were severely affected by the rainy season, which caused extensive damage to homes and farmland.
“As a responsive representative of the people, I have no choice but to step in and provide much-needed support to the affected individuals. The relief items distributed include essential food supplies such as rice, maize, tomatoes, spaghetti, groundnut oil, and seasonings.”
Dr. Gana further explained that the communities benefiting from this initiative, namely Muregi, Gbara, Gbajibo, Jebba, and Ja’agi, were chosen as part of his humanitarian commitment. He directed that the materials be distributed directly to the victims through their respective village heads and emphasized the importance of efficient and fair distribution procedures.
In their remarks, the village heads praised Hon. Gana’s proactive leadership and commitment to the welfare of his people, describing him as a genuine representative of the masses. They prayed for his continued success and outstanding achievements in his political career.
At the event, Hon. Mohammed Imam, the state Assistant Organizing Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), commended Hon. Gana’s efforts, calling him a patriotic leader dedicated to improving the well-being of his constituents.
