Kolo describes Rijau Sec. Sch. as inhabitable for students, calls for Govt intervention.
The National President of Rijau Old Students Association, (RIJOSA), Alhaji Usman Kolo Bokani has raised concerns over the deplorable state of the school.
Bokani described as shocking the deplorable condition of the Infrastructures in the Government Secondary School (GSS),Rijau as inhabitable,calling on the Old Students and the state government to step in and the needful.
Speaking at the 2024 stakeholders and re-union of the school which was held at Doko Hotel in Minna at the weekend, Alhaji Usman Kolo described most of the structures in the school as an eyesore.
” You will be surprised and shocked if you see how those hostels, dining halls classrooms and conveniences have turned to, endangering students to reptiles”.
According to him most of the structures in the school have collapsed and some in dilapidated conditions,hence government to take drastic measure to resuscitate then.
He appealed to all members of the old Students association to as matter of urgent come to the rescue of their Alma mater from the current state of the Infrastructural decay in the school.
He applauds members for the Support and personal sacrifices made that kept the association alive adding that a lot needed to be done.
Alhaji Kolo Bokani called on the members to work hard and make more sacrifices to the development of the institution.
He posited that the Old Students have been contributing immensely towards the development and progress of the institution and urges them to double their efforts.
Bokani appreciated the unprecedented support of the Minister of Information and National Orientation,Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi who is also Old Student for his contributions to the development of the institution and therefore called on other well-meaning member of the association to support in the development of the school.
In his remarks,Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Abubakar Maidoki also called on all critical stakeholders in the education sectors to come to the aid of the school particularly to tackle the deloplarable condition of the school.
He then described as painful the manner at which the state goverment have neglected some Public schools in the state.
