NIGROMA flag-off rehabilitation of 1.5km Abdulkadir Kure Ultra-Modern market road
Niger State Road Maintenance Agency (NIGROMA), has flagged-off the rehabilitation of 1.5 kilometres Abdulkadir Kure Ultra-Modern Market to Bomas Supermarket Road in Minna.
Managing Director of NIGROMA, Alhaji Farouk Audi, performed the flag-off of the rehabilitation of the Road at the Market in Minna on Saturday.
Farouk Audi said that the agency have selected five numbers of township roads that are in critical condition totaling 50 kilometres for rehabilitation in every quarter of the year.
He said the repair of these critical roads was delayed because the agency had to plan, restrategies especially on the roads that were in critical and bad conditions as well as those that are fairly good for rehabilitation.
“The Abdulkadir Kure Ultra-Modern market to Bomas supermarket Road has been in bad shape for a while without getting necessary attention.
“But, with the coming of Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago administration of which he has prioritised infrastructural development approved that we should start with the market road.
“This is to allow free flow of traffic and motorists plying the road will be happy.This also signifies our intentions as an agency that we mean business to repair bad portions of roads within the state,” he said.
Farouk Audi disclosed that others roads to be rehabilitated are the Top Medical to M. I Wushishi road amongst others.
He said that road infrastructure development and maintenance are part of the developmental programmes of Bago-led administration to allow free flow of traffic.
While commending Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for coming to the aid of traders and customers, the Chairman of Harmonised Minna Traders, Alhaji Gambo Aliyu, thanked the governor for feeling the suffering of traders.
He said the Abdulkadir Ultra-Modern Kure Market Road has been in bad state for a long period of time without getting necessary attention from the past government.
“We have waited for long for the road to be repair, motorists have been having difficulties plying the road and we experience low patronage because of the road,” he said.
Also, Alhaji Aliyu Maikaza, Youth Leader in the market, expressed happiness with the Bago-led administration for approving the repair of the market road to address the plight of motorists.
