Niger State chapter of NANS dissociates from planned nationwide protest
The Niger State chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has disassociated itself from the planned protest scheduled for August 1.
Chairman of the NANS Niger, Malam Salihu Yusuf, disclosed this a press conference in Minna on Thursday.
According to Yusuf, the association will not be deceived into participating in the protest.
He, however, lauded Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger achievements in various sectors, including infrastructural development, ectsecurity, agriculture, health, and education and scholarship scheme for students.
He warned that hoodlums allegedly plan to hijack the protest and use it as an opportunity to loot and destroy property.
Yusuf said there was need to take precautionary measures to prevent destruction of properties.
