Adviser seeks unity amongst political parties in Niger

By Mohammed Baba Busu

The Special Adviser to Gov. Umaru Bago on Political and Strategy, Malam Nma Kolo, has called on Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), to safeguard the existing harmony in the state.

He made the call during a meeting with IPAC in Minna on Tuesday, urging them to remain vigilant, proactive and prevent any action that would jorpardise peaceful co-existence.

Nma-Kolo said as representatives of diverse political parties, they should set aside their differences and work together to ensure progress of the state.

*As diverse political parties, we understand the importance of unity and cooperation in achieving our shared goals.

“Our state can not strive without your support; we appreciate your positive contributions toward the development of the state,” he said.

He appealed to IPAC to encourage their constituents to voice out their concerns through appropriate channels rather than resulting to nationwide protest.

He said the governor shared with their concerns and had taken measures to alleviate hardships, calling on them to support the Bago-led administration to build a brighter future for the state.

Nma-Kolo noted that the Bago-led administration had achieved significant strides in agriculture, aimed at ensuring food security for the state and the country as well as infrastructure development in urban and rural areas.

He added that the administration had achieved remarkable progress in education through provision of essential support for girl child education, to reduce out-of-school children.

He, however, said that it was crucial for everyone, irrespective of their political differences, to support the governor who was keen on delivering good governance to the people.

Responding, the Chairman of IPAC, Alhaji Isah Bello, lauded the special adviser for being proactive in ensuring political parties come together to support the present administration.

He disclosed that IPAC in the state would not take part in the planned nationwide protest due to the incredible performance and achievements of the governor.

Isah, however, called on the administration to ensure that political parties were adequately captured in government incentives and programmes, in order not to feel left behind. (NAN)
