Niger Police Command Arrests Suspected Gunrunner/Dealer of fabricated AK-47 rifles.

Niger State Police Command in it efforts to curb crime and criminality in the State, has arrested a 21 year old Mustapha Ishaku of Kuta area of Shiroro local government area in possession of three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles.
In statement made available to Newsmen by the commands PPRO SP, W.A. Abiodun stated that the suspect was arrested in Mandela area of Minna with the rifles while attempting to sell one of the rifles.
The statement also said that the suspect mentioned that he was a welder at Kuta and that he had been working with one Bala who is at large,that the said Bala specialized in carving the wooden parts of the rifles, while he fabricated the iron parts.
Ishaku also confessed that he had fabricated over twenty AK-47 rifles with Bala.
He further confessed that he had sold three of the same rifles to some buyers at Izom, at the rate of one hundred thousand naira each, while two rifles among the three recovered were also meant for supply at Izom at the same rate.
According to the Commands PPRO W.A Abiodun investigation is still in progress, as the Crack squad is making efforts to locate and arrest the buyers in order to recover the said rifles.
