The Assemblies of God Nigeria ( AGN) Headquarters has created a new Niger central District of the church in Niger state.
Nigeria Daily post Reporter reports that members of AGN from 8 sections comprising 19 branches held its inaugural/council meeting with the election of New leader ship of the New District recently
Nigeria Daily post however report that 35 Delegates from the eight sections of the church participated in the election which took place at Minna central to elect their leadership officers who are to pilot the affairs of churches under the New District for the next three years in office with the resident pastor of Kontagora section of the church ,Rev IgirI Joseph ( an Igede indigene ) from Benue state emerging as a winner for the position of District suprindent of the church
The Inaugural session/council meeting presided by the Executive committee member delegated by the National Headquarters of the church to oversee the election ( EC) Rev Dr Emeka Eze who is also the District suprindent of the church Abuja central has Rev shiroro Audu peter as Assistant fsuperindent with Rev uloh Fred Uloh to serve as the Secretary of the District
Also elected are Rev Sunday Bassey as Treasurer,Rev Micheal Gyang,Rev,Gamba Shekoduza and and Rev Kenneth Nwankwo were equally elected as prestibers for the District
Speaking earlier in his message delivered during a sermon to mark the official take up of the Newly created Niger central District which titled as the power of vision,Dr Emeka Eze emphasized the need for members to close ranks and work together with the visionary leaders whom God have raised for them to steer the affairs of the New District He however tasked the members under the District further to exhibit an exemplary lives by showing love,caring for one another to ensure that unity iand peace is sustaimed in order to bring development to the District.
The Executive member of the church (EC) for the creation of the New District also urged both the District members and the New leaders of the church under their eyewatch to shunned any act that will bring disunity among themselves devoid of quarrelling and fighting
The clergy who earlier derived his
message from the book of Genenis chapter 13 vs 14 and 15 said the advise became necessary to ensure that members of the New District are united in order to bring proress to the churches saying that Leadership is all about responsibility to serve people with vision which according to him was not for fun,or fancy pointing out that it is a system from God that will provoke change and favour to the people.
He equally admonished them and their followers to remain focused to the service of God and desist from complaining of what is not available as well as avoid looking for failure as a vision leader but should look ahead of the future .
Rev Dr Eze who earlier described vision as a change matrax said that people without vision should forget about leadership as they lack focus and direction saying that such kind of persons only struggle for position in the office for their own family and what to eat but not to serve people.
Speaking on the essence of the creation of the New District in Niger state by the leadership of the church headed by professor Paul Emeka,the clergy maintain that its all about expansion and growth stressing that the Niger central District created was not just born but to grow and preach unity among the its members
Rev Dr Emeka Eze further implored
the officers of the New Created Niger central District of
Assemblies of God to carry along every members of the church and leave an exemplary live deviod of tribalism by leading as a visionary leaders in all their dealings
In his acceptance speech,the District superindent of Niger central District, Rev Joseph Igiri appreciated all the 35 delegates who participated in the elections especially for the confident they have in him saying he will not let down their expections bestowend on him ,promising that he will work hard to reunite all those members who left the church because of one problem or the other as his first segment of assignment as he assumed office as DS .
He also promised to restore unity to the church by winning more souls into Gods vainyard to ensure development and upliftment of the church in all ramifications
special prayers was held for the elected District Officials by the Abuja District superindent, of the church Rev Dr.Emeka Eze who is also the Executive committee member of AG who supervise the Election and their inauguration which took place at the Minna Central church close to VIO Headquarters minna.
About 19 churches that made up of Minna central which has 8 sections participatend in the election and inauguration of the new Leadership of the recently created Niger central District.
