THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA TODAY.. who do we hold? Way out.

Majorly, there are 3 key issues; Fuel subsidy removal, Inflation caused by high rate of the dollar, the problem of insecurity.

Now let’s take them one by one, Fuel Subsidy was not removed by Tinubu, it was only announced by him, The Buhari Government had already announced that subsidy regime wil end by June 2023.

Before then, every single administration had struggle with it, the corruption, the over burgeoning debt bill and the decaying infrastructure, with the level of insecurity in the Niger Delta under Buhari, Nigeria’s crude oil exportation had dropped to 1.1 million barrels per day, the revenue from the oil exploration is shared between Federal Government and Major Oil Exploration Companies at about 60:40 or 55:45.

Now you do the maths, the subsidy removal was almost as certain as death! It must come. I was a Presidential campaign spokesman and I know for sure that all the 3 major Presidential candidates said: “Oil subsidies has to Go” because they know it was unsustainable. If only it had continued, today not even salaries would be payable. Sounds bad, but that is the truth!

So in Buhari’s 2023 budget, oil subsidies payments ended in June 2023, Tinubu only made it known in his inaugural speech of may 29.

Second, the problem of inflation caused by high rate of the dollar to Naira in exchange: it is only in Buhari’s administration for 8 years that allocation of dollars were made to people who neither produced goods nor render any foreign services at official rate and then they sold at the black market and they become instant billionaires.

Just imagine getting allocation of $1m/N600 and selling at black market at $1/N1000, without doing anything you made N400,000,000 (four hundred million Naira) without producing anything.

It Got worse that till today Some state Governors are buying dollars with their state’s allocation and keeping them to resell, one state Governor bought $10million and was even cheering that he has become rich without stealing. Haba! So the way out was to allow the market forces determine the rate of the dollar to Naira if only to protect the economy and the stop economic sabotage by some people, the dollar will surely find its base and settle.

What is just annoying is that the saboteurs have find ways of attaching the rate of dollar to even bitter kola, Garri and even Okra, you hear everyone saying “dollar don high” wetin join Garri with dollars? The big crooks are feeling the heat of the dollar floating and are sponsoring narratives.

By the way, even if you hoard the dollar when it was N600 and now it is N1400, the value of your N600, would in most cases be higher than the current N1,400 so you are just wasting your time by keeping the dollar, instead put the Naira to productive use, create employment and services and grow your country.

People in high offices, people in Authority and with access to monies were buying crypto in billions, Binance in about 4 months made over N2billion from Nigeria, what do they produce? Currency manipulation. The CBN is regulating that, what is wrong with that?

Last but not the least, Insecurity, just ask yourself when last did you hear of kidnapping of 50 -100 people at a go?

When last did you hear upheavals in the Niger delta?

What about Boko Haram?

Going by my observations, by the end of 2024 at the speed the security of forces are going Boko Haram, one of the biggest terrorist group that threatened Nigeria’s existence will end, what can be more chearing? Except you don’t love yourself, this would heartwarming information for every patriotic Nigerian.

Kaduna -Abuja road is now quiet like never before, I stopped plying that road since 2020 until recently. Drive through Night or day, very safe!

High ranking bandits are taken out; Boderi is neutralised, Turji is now harmless and waiting for his judgement day which will come soon.

Over 780 hostages kidnapped and held on the mountains top of Taraba have been freed due to sustained artillery operations of the security a
Over 780 hostages kidnapped and held on the mountains top of Taraba have been freed due to sustained artillery operations of the security agents.

The notorious 2baba is neutralised.

Most notorious bandits are either neutralised or netted.

All the criminals who participated in the kidnapping and killing of Nabeeha and family members have been neutralised, few left are netted and waiting for their judgment day too.

Like we all know, Kidnapping is an economic crime, it will take a while to halt it completely but for sure, with the Nabeeha experience, any kidnapping that happens today is met with immediate and urgent security reactions.

Don’t forget, in time past bandits were attacking baracks and military formations even in FCT.

Today, they have lost the capability and capacity to do so.

You might not like a person but be fair to the person when you see reason and truth.

Somebody somewhere is certainly doing something to have the above results.

Who is that? Tinubu!

Sai Baba,
Writes from Minna
