Niger State Government Resumes Gratuity Payments to Retirees
The Niger State Government has announced the resumption of gratuity payments to State and Local Government retirees as part of its efforts to settle outstanding liabilities and enhance the welfare of pensioners.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Minna, the government emphasized that this initiative reflects Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s commitment to ensuring retired public servants receive their entitled benefits.
The statement reported that gratuities have been paid up to Batch 11 for State Government retirees, with payments for Batch 12 set to begin immediately. Additionally, the government will resume payment of Batch 3 gratuities for Local Government retirees.
It also highlighted that the administration has maintained prompt monthly pension payments while gradually clearing gratuity arrears owed to retirees.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Information and Orientation is committed to keeping the public informed about government policies and activities, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
The government commended the Director-General of the Niger State Pension Board, Alhaji Nasiru Saidu Namaska, along with the board’s management and staff, for facilitating a transparent and seamless payment process.
Retirees were thanked for their patience and understanding, with assurances of ongoing support for their welfare. Beneficiaries are advised to cooperate with the Niger State Pension Board to ensure a smooth payment process.
