NSCDC Niger Command beefs up security for the peaceful Christmas and New Year Celebration.
The Niger state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 1,500 personnel across all the 25 Local Government areas in the state to tighten and beefs up security before, during and after Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The State Commandant, Dr Elijah Etim Willie disclosed this on Monday while briefing the officers and Men of the Command.
The Commandant stressed the need of the personnel to be more vigilant looking at the current security situation of the State.
He however, reminded the personnel to protect critical national assets and infrastructure with due diligent and called on the officers deployed to exhibit high sense of professionalism while discharging their duties.
He directed the immediate deployment of personnel to worship centers, parks and all entries points to the capital City of the state.
He then urged Christian’s faithful to use this Holy period to pray for the country.
The Commandant called on the general public to remain calm, law abiding and report any suspicious movement capable of causing unrest to the nearest security outpost.
