Niger State House of Assembly Speaker welcomes members back from recess – assures them of better legislations.
Rt. Hon. ( Dr.) Abdulmalik Muhammed Sarkin Daji,The speaker of the House disclosed these while delivering his welcome address at the plenary of the House today tuesday 14th November 2023.
The Speaker use the opportunity to appreciate his Colleagues for returning back from the Eight weeks recess which according to him is a tradition of the Legislature borne out of the necessity to create opportunity for the elected members to take time out of their tight schedule to interact with their constituents.
The Head of Media and Public Relations,Farouq Umar Isah in a Press release, said Sarkin Daji informed Members that the findings from their interactions with their various constituents should be fine tuned and process legislatively in order to realize the goals and objectives of the good and responsive Government in Niger State in this era of “New Niger Agenda “.
He commended the 9th Legislature and assured that the present 10th Assembly will surpass what they did for the enthronement of grassroot development and good governance in Niger State, he also use the opportunity to commend his colleagues for their response and show of patriotism when urgent matters of State that required immediate legislative action for the progress of our beloved State.
He further commended the various House Standing Committees for the successful inauguration of all the Committees, he urged them to intensify their oversight functions regarding the activities of all MDA’s for compliance and Responsibility in line with laid down administrative protocols.
Barr. Sarkin Daji appreciate the efforts of the Governor of Niger State, Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago and the entire Executive arm of government for their unprecedented synergy with the Niger State House of Assembly as an arm of Government in the struggle to engineer and overhaul the entire governmental process and architecture to usher in the “New Niger” that will be first among states in Nigeria.
furthermore he reiterated the 10th Assembly’s resolve to partner with the executive arm of government in the restoration of Security back to many of our rural communities especially in Zone C and Zone B. hopefully that insecurity will be surmounted in Niger State and Nigerlites in these areas will be able to have a sigh of relief and carryout their farming activities and other associated economic activities without any inhibition or fear of men of the underworld.
He also appreciate the Management and Staff of the State House of Assembly and encourage them to continue to work harder as they oil the wheels for the discharge of their constitutional Legislative mandate.
Finally he appreciated the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria ( PASAN) Niger State Chapter for their concerted struggle toward attainment of Financial autonomy for the Legislature in Nigeria, according to him it is very important the legislature should have autonomy in order to be able to live to it’s expectation as an arm of government.
