Eid-el-Maulud: HYPPADEC boss urges Nigerians to pray for success of Tinubu, others

Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq-Yelwa, Managing Director, Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission, HYPPADEC, has appealed to Muslims to to pray for President Bola Tinubu and other leaders to discharge their duties effectively, to move the country towards a path of sustainable development.
Sadiq-Yelwa made the appeal at the celebration of a Maulud Nabiyi (SWA) organized by Khalifa Abdullahi Idris Zawiyya in Fogun area, Bida on Thursday.
“There is the need for Muslims to use the holy month of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, (PBUH) to pray fervently for the successful tenure of President Bola Tinubu and leaders at all levels for God to guide and guard them to deliver the much needed dividends of democracy.”
He said that prayer was the only weapon that would guide the leaders to turn the country’s fortune for better and would assist in addressing the mirage of challenges that the nation was facing.
The managing director also urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for peace and progress of the nation.
He said it was not just enough to be a Muslim, “but you must also have the fear of Allah and behave in the most acceptable manner to your fellow human beings”.
“Let us revive the teachings of the prophet by preaching peace wherever we find ourselves,” he said.
The Managing Director also urged Muslims to use the Maulud period to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country.
According to him, “Maulud is not only for merry making, but also a time to emulate what Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent by Almighty God to come and do”.
He said that as Muslims who are sincere in their faith, “we are supposed to follow all that the Prophet of Islam preaches and teaches”.
He said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) preached peace, love and unity “and as true followers of Islam, we should emulate the same thing so that we can enjoy blessings of God Almighty here and in the hereafter”.
Sadiq-Yelwa urged Nigerians to continue to be tolerant and live in peace with one another, irrespective of religious, cultural and ethnic differences.
“Without peace and unity, socio-economic development will continue to elude the country.”
He urged the Muslim faithful to learn how to forgive, stressing that “Allah Himself forgives”.
The managing director urged Muslims to shun acts capable of tarnishing the image of Islam
Sadiq-Yelwa, however, reminded people living in riverine communities to always use life jackets when boarding boats.
He also urged them to avoid boarding overcrowded vessels or travelling at night.(NAN)
