UK CONSULTANTS VISITS NIGER SCHOOLS, AS PROCESS FOR GRANTS TO ADDRESS OUT -OF-SCHOOL CHILDREN PROGRESSES.

In a bid to secure grants for out-of-School Children program, a UK-based consultants working in partnership with Niger state government has embarked on a 4-day assessment visit to some selected schools.
The comprehensive assessment of the selected Schools was aimed at determining their current condition and identify areas that required renovation and reconstruction.
The Consultants, Dr. Olusegun Okewo and Nkeiruka Ibraheem who is the Lead consultant is also help to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Schools infrastructure, facilities and overall sustainability of the Schools .
All these will play a crucial role in securing the grants needed for the project in a bid to address the problems of out of school children.
The Initiative is to provide better learning environment by renovating and constructing 30 Schools, 10 each from the three Zones in the State for out-of-School Children, who often face significant barriers to education or have dropped out due to poverty and other socio-economic factors.
Accompanied by the Niger State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Wasa Jonathan K, and other Directors of the Ministry, the consultants engaged directly with the Students, teachers and School Administrators to gather valuable informations about the specific needs and challenges being faced by each of the Schools.
The Commissioner said the assessments will allow the consultants to understand the unique challenges face by each School, enabling them to tailor their grant proposals to address these specific needs effectively.
The lead consultant, Nkeiruka Ibraheem, highlighted the importance of the on-the-spot assessments; by visiting the Schools and witnessing the condition firsthand.
She said the goal is to secure funding that will enable the Schools to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for out-of-School Children in the State.
The process for securing the grants progresses, and it is expected to produce a significant improvement towards ensuring that every child has access to quality education, ultimately making a positive impact on the lives of out-of-School Children, providing them with a chance to receive an education that will shape their future.
