Niger State Govt. to collaborates SEDI on technological Programme.

Niger State Ministry for Science and Technology has reiterated its commitment towards partnering with the Management of Scientific Equipment Development Institute SEDI, for the benefit of the people of the state.
The Commissioner Hon. Umar Yabagi, stated this when he received the Managements staff of the institute, led by the Managing Director Professor Mohammad Baba Ndaliman, on a courtesy visit to his office.
The commissioner said collaborating with the institute will enable the ministry to benefit from the various programs and technological innovations being carried out by the institute which will be beneficial to the people of the state.
He added that Nigerlites will be able to tap from the knowledge of the innovators through training by the institute so as to be beneficial noting that the institute technical experts, adding that being a federal parastatal, there was need by the state to key into the activities of the institution as most of the scientific research and production were being executed locally.
Umar Yabagi stated that the ministry will operate an open door policy while explaining that plans were on to organise workshop for the staff of the ministry in collaboration with the institute so as to engage on scientific research and production for better result.
He then urged the institute to always have the ministry in mind by notifying them whenever they are executing any important project so as to have experience of what the institute is doing.
Also speaking during the visit, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Hajiya Kalthumi Dauda Rufai, assured the management of the institute of the state government’s commitment to key into the activities of the institute as they produce equipment that can be used by the security agencie as the state was being faced with the challenges of insecurity.
She added that the ministry will ensure collaboration with institute in purchasing some of the equipments producef by the institute, noting that it will reduce the cost for the state government.
In his speech, the managing director of the institute Prof Mohammad Baba Ndaliman, said the aim of theit visit was to congratulate the commissioner and solicit for the support of the ministry.
He explained that with the splitting of the ministry, the institute was expecting a higher level of productivity, stressing that the institute was not only on research but also has a mandate to take necessary measure to see to the actualisation of industrialization of the country by fabricating what would facilitate the production of capital goods.
He then spoke on the mission of the institute to include production of equipment for used in schools, hospitals, laboratories among others
He said over the years, the institute was able to make a reliable achievement and also has the facility to train entrepreneurs to enable them produce more equipments for the state.
