Liquor Board destroyed alcoholic drinks worth 20 Million naira in Suleja Niger State.
Niger state Liquor lincensing Board has destroyed assorted alcoholic drinks worth over twenty million naira in Suleja town of Niger state.
The Secretary of the Board,Mallam Ibrahim Muhammad Bonu while answering question from Journalists at the site were the items where destroyed in Suleja.said the items were seized from various beer joints who violated Niger state liquor lincensing Board law.
He use the forum to appeal to the state government to assist the board with functional operation vehicles to enable them discharge their statutory mandate successfully, adding that most of the vehicles are warnedout.
He then warned liquor vendors in the state to always adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of sales of liquor, adding that any vendor cought violating liquor law or using under age children’s in their business shall have their business premises cealed and shall be Prosecuted as enshrined in the liquor bye law of Niger State.
He then advice them to always abide by the time of operation and closing hours of 6pm – 10 pm as stipulated in the bye law of Niger state Liquor lincensing Board or shall face the full wrath of the liquor law.
In his address at the venue, the Chairman of Suleja local government Council, Hon.Isyaku Bawa Naibi who witnessed the destruction alongside with the Council members,assures the Secretary of the Liquor Board of their unflinching support. .
The chairman reiterates his commitments to ensure that Suleja local government area remain a none alcoholic sales and consumption area. “you know must of liquor joints harbour criminals I will make sure that criminals are chased out of the town”, the Chairman said.
He then thanked the officials of the Board particularly the Monitoring officer of Suleja local government area, Mallam Shuibu Haruna who made sure that the operation was successful.
He then promised to support the Board financially and materially towards achieving their mandates in Suleja local government area.
The representative of Suleja Emirate Council at the destruction site,Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Dangungu mentioned that Suleja Emirate Council have concluded arrangement on Friday 23/6/2023 for a special Jumma’a prayer in the Emirate for Allah to save the area from alcoholic menace and also to offer a special prayer for the staff of Niger state Liquor lincensing Board to succeed on their operations in the area.
