Niger NUJ Felicitates elected NLC Chair, promises for collaboration.
Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Niger State Council has reaffirmed its strong collaboration and support to the new leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in the state.
The assurance was contained in a congratulatory message to Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene, by the union on his emergence as the new State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Niger State Council, at the just concluded 13th State Delegates Conference in Minna.
In a statement issued by the Council Secretary, Comrade Usman Chiji, which the E-copy was obtained by The Eagle Eye pointed out that, as an affiliate of the NLC, NUJ would continue to play its role as the mouthpiece in order to bridge communication gap between the organized labour, employers of labour, government and the larger society.
Comrade Usman Chiji further described the emergence of Comrade Idris Abdulkareem Lafene who is also the state President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE as the new State Chairman of NLC, as well deserved victory for labour movement in the state.
The Council expressed optimism that, the new state NLC chairman would use his wealth of experience on labour matters, to consolidate on the gains of the past to enhance the working conditions of workers and general well being of the citizenry.
The statement also reaffirmed the Council’s call for support and cooperation of workers especially affiliate unions to the new NLC chairman to enable him succeed.
