Governor Sani Bello of Niger Commission’s High Court Complex K/Gora with a Call to Judges for quick dispensation of justice.
The Niger state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has reaffirm the role of the Judiciary in ensuring dispensation of justice irrespective of status.
The Governor stated this while commissioning High Court one and two complex in kontagora.
Governor Abubakar sani Bello while commissioning the renovated High Court complex kontagora said his administration remains committed to creating a conducive working environment for the Judiciary in the state.
The Governor however Commended the immediate past and present chief judge for the quality work done.
Earlier In her speech at the commissioning ceremony the chief judge of Niger state Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik appreciates the Governor for his support to the Judiciary as a whole.
The Chìef Judge, Justice Halima stated that the Contract for the construction of the High Court Complex was awarded on the 24/02/2021 to Messrs Design Brief Consultant Ltd at an initial cost of # 145,970,261.00 (One Hundred and Forty Five Million, Nine Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty One Naira) with a later variation in the sum of N50, 592,799.44 (Fifty Million, Five Hundred and Ninety Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety Nine Naira, Forty Four Kobo) under the supervision of my her predecessor the then Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Aisha Lami Bawa Bwari (Rtd.).
CJ Halima said the furnishing of the courts was carried out under her watch at the conservative sum of #30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Naira Only).
Halima Abdulmalik used opportunity to most sincerely appreciates both the moral and financial support given by the Executive Governor of Niger State towards the actualization of the complex.
She also commends the efforts of her predecessor Hon. Justice Aisha Lami Bawa Bwari retired who ensured that the projects is achieved during her tenure.
“My Lord, we salute your efforts in this regard and we are so proud of you.It is my ardent hope that this structure will remain beneficial to humanity, because the Judiciary as an arm of Government plays a crucial role in the functioning of Democracy”.
According to her,the role of Judiciary includes dispute resolution, judicial review, upholding the rule of Law and Enforcing Fundamental Rights. Hence, the adage that the Judiciary is the last hope of the common man.
