Political appointees in Niger state have been advised to always go back to their constituency to enable them identity some of the challenges facing their people to enable them reap the dividends of democracy.
Hon Nma Mohammed kolo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political matters and strategy stated this while receiving APC Stakeholders from Edati local government area who paid him courtesy visit in his office.
Hon. Nma Kolo said is time for the Political appointees to disabuse the mind of electorate and their supporters, that they are only used during election period and abandoned after winning election, hence need for them to always go back home and carry them along.
According to him the state government is planning to reposition the Political structure in the state, “very soon the Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago shall approve a salary structure for party Executives at wards level up to the state level to build confidence in them”.
He explained that Farmer Governor Umaru Bago want the party to be more proactive to disabuse the notion that party executives and Electorates are abandoned after winning election.
On the issue of Political appointment, he said,State government have invested heavily on political appointment but the Governor is doing anything possible to carry all members of APC along in the state.
Earlier, in his speech,the Chairman of Edati local government, Hon Sunday Yisa ( Jagaban Edati) who was the leader of delegation at the courtesy visit, said they were in his office to celebrate him and to show appreciation for the good leadership qualities Farmer Governor Umaru Bago is exhibiting and to asure him that the entire people of Edati local government area are now indivisible, they speak with one voice and solidly behind the Governor at all time.
He said is time for the government to forget what happened in the last general election, adding that the All Progressive Congress ( APC) in Edati local Government is more United and have more followers than the opposition party.
He then appealed for more political appointment slots for APC Loyalist in Edati local government.
