Alleged N1.2bn fraud: EFCC counsel stalls proceedings in Plateau High Court on case between Dr Sunday Etukudoh, Ernest

The Plateau State High Court has adjourned to the 20th Day of October, 2026 on alleged money laundering by Economic and Financial Crime Commission ,EFCC, against Dr Sunday Etukudoh and Ernest Domtoe.
The case had suffered over 20 years setback when EFCC couldn’t prosecute the Provost of the Federal School of Medical Laboratories Jos ,as the prosecution counsel always introduced fresh complaint either lack of proper services.
The court rearraigned Sunday Etukudoh and Ernest Domtoe on alleged 359 million frauds, allegd diversion of contract sum of money main for the development of the school located at Lamingo ,JUTH permanent site .
Dr Sunday Nkereuwem Etukudoh and Ernest Domtoe were charged with 16 count charge as the court promised accelerating hearing but when matter came up Case Management Conference, CMC,counsel to EFCC put in an application on why he couldn’t served the defendants due to his ill health .
According him ,he has been sicked so he couldn’t effect service on the defense counsels.
Allegations that best on the practice direction of Plateau State High Court rules the defendants need to be serve proper ,he pleaded for more time to serve them .
The EFCC sought for a long adjournment knowing that the matter is criminal in nature which was instituted over 20 years ago starting with Rtd Justice Yakubu Dakwak ,to Rtd Justice Daniel Longji and Rtd Justice Christine Dabup all retired.
Now ,when Hon Justice S.P.Gang of High Court 4 after many years of delayed ,then ,on 2nd Day of June, 2026 the court rearraigned them on 16 count charge with another long adjournment on the alleged money laundering and misappropriation of N1.2 billion.
The EFCC rearraigned Mr Etukudo and Ernest of the school, on a sixteen -count charge bordering on conspiracy, money laundering, and misappropriation of public funds. EFCC said the alleged offences were committed in February 2011.
“On 29/2 /2011, the sum of N1.38m, was transferred from the school budget account into Zenith Bank private account by Mr. Henry Oyobo, and N943m into another private account at United African Bank, in connivance with the provost, which is punishable under section 1 sub sec 1a, under the 2006 criminal act,” the charge sheet read.
However, the prosecution counsel, S.A.Tundelayimi was asked that the accused persons based on the gravity of allegations against them should been under accelerated hearing not series of adjournment .
