Nigeria Army will continue to dislodge insurgents from their enclaves – Maj Gen Aligbe.
The Nigerian army has listed it’s amongst some of its achievements to including dislodging of insurgents from their various enclaves in the North East, North West and in Niger state.
The Commander Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC) in Niger state, Major General Kevin Obhiozele Aligbe, disclosed this during an annual event organised to mark the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) held at the 31 Artillery parade ground Minna.
Major General Aligbe disclosed that few insurgents raising their ugly heads in Niger state had been dislodged, adding that the war against insurgency has progressed steadily and effectively in the country.
He said that the TRADOC and 31 brigade have continued to contribute troops to the ongoing operation HADIN KAI in the North East and HADARIN DAJI in the North West.
He disclosed that despite these achievements, there is still security threat in some part of the country particularly in Niger state as terrorists have spread to some parts of the state carrying out dastardly acts.
He said troop of TRADOC, 31 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Airforce, Defence Headquarters Special Operations Force (DHQ SOF) and 18 Brigade have been carrying out operations on ISIS within the state with tremendous successes.
Aligbe called on the Military personnel,their family members and the general public to be more security conscious in other to nip off any nefarious plan of these miscreants in the society.
Here appreciated Chief of Army Staff, Lieut. -Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja for unrelenting material and financial support to the cantonment that enabled its records some of the successes.
Special Guests of Honour at the event, Major General Jamiu Jimoh, who is the Chief of Doctrine and Combat Development , commended the troops for performing excellently and pledged the troops continuous effort in the fight against insurgency.
In his vote of thanks, Brigadier General, Hamidu Bobbo, Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna, attributed the success recorded to constant training of personnel and appreciated COAS for his continuous support.
Highlights of the event was cultural performance by different ethnic groups to showcase the country’s diverse cultural heritage and presentation of song written by CPL James Abang Unit: 31AB, titled am a Soldier which add tremendous colour to the occasion due to its uniqueness.
