Boat Mishap Kills 24 Others Missing in Niger Community

No fewer than 24 Persons were reportedly killed while several others are missing after a boat mishap occurred in Mokwa Local Government area of Niger State.
Confirming the incident to some journalists in Minna through a telephone call, the Council Chairman Mokwa Local Government area of the state, Jibrin Muregi said rescue effort are ongoing.
He explained that 21 corpses have been so far recovered, adding that three community members of Gbajibo, Ekwa and Yankeiade were involved in the boat mishap.
The incident occurred on Sunday but the actual number of people onboard and the major cause aa well as the time of the accident is yet to be ascertain
as at the time of filling in this report.
All efforts to get the response of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA Public Relations Officer, Mr Nussaini proved abortive.
